Show 145 with Tim Goodwin of The Data Center

Tim Goodwin Tim Goodwin, Founder and CEO of The Data Center

A veteran data industry service provider, our guest today is Tim Goodwin, the founder and CEO of The Data Center.

The Data Center, which is based in Rockford, IL offers a full range of data protection services. Tim made a strategic decision years ago to only service clients with data focused solutions. To this day, that has not changed. The Data Center has evolved into co-location, cloud services and disaster recovery consulting as they have grown.

Along with Tim’s story – which is instructive on it’s own  – Tim discusses his philosophy of selling. This show should be required listening for anyone selling any type of RIM services, not just data.

Always try to put your best foot forward” -Tim Goodwin

Show 144 with Chris Muller of Muller Media Conversions

Chris Muller Chris Muller, Raider of the Lost Archives at Muller Media Conversions

Our guest today has actually been involved in Watergate, Whitewater, and Worldcom but not in the way you might expect. He’s done detective work with the data.

Chris Muller got his start in 1978 when he was in charge of software development for a financial printing company. The things he learned there were the seeds to the birth and growth of his current business.

As the Founder, Owner and CEO of Muller Media Conversions Chris spends his time extracting and translating data from old media. This might mean something as simple as moving old data files to a new operating system or as complex as trying to discover what data is housed on an old media tape, creating a method to decode it and then translate the content to a readable and convenient format.

Show 143 with William Scott of BlegalBloss

William Scott William Scott, Inventor and Designer at BlegalBloss

He’s been part of our RIM world as the owner of a records management business and also a shredding and destruction business in Cincinnati. So, he’s one of us. But while still deeply connected, those businesses are no longer a part of the equation.

Now, Will Scott is creating some seriously cool results as the Inventor, Chief Designer and CEO at BlegalBloss, a company he founded and leads today.

Will has revolutionized the cardboard box industry with numerous patents and innovative approaches to making life easier and more people friendly with his inventions. His design concepts include better ergonomics, efficiency, security and a lot more. His Boxie records storage boxes are now crowding out some of the most established box brands in the world on the shelves at over 2700 retail stores including those run by Staples and OfficeMax.

Will is one of the most passionate and focused visionaries I’ve talked to in a long time. I wanted to have him back on the show to share how far he and Blegalbloss have come in the last couple of years. It’s really an amazing success story.

Show 142 with Lon Rudnitsky of Pyromet

Lon Rudnistky Lon Rudnistky, Film Wash Partner at Pyromet

The silver recovery business has often been tarnished with a bad reputation. But there are those who have worked to change the perceptions and deliver a reputable service over the years.

Lon Rudnitsky, the Film Wash Partner at Pyromet grew up in the silver business. He knows the silver recovery industry inside out.  As someone actively involved in it, Lon sheds some light today on what the silver recovery process entails, how companies like Pyromet and others like them work, as well as the ways you can help your clients know the legitimate silver recovery companies from the scammers.

But, even more importantly, as the ongoing purge of massive amounts of x-ray film from medical institutions takes place over the next few years, it is important for you to know how to leverage it to your advantage. My interview with Lon should help you with that.

We’ll also get you caught up on the latest industry news.
