He’s been part of our RIM world as the owner of a records management business and also a shredding and destruction business in Cincinnati So, he’s one of us. But while still deeply connected, those businesses are no longer a part of the equation.
Now, Will Scott is creating some seriously cool results as the Inventor, Chief Designer and CEO at Blegalbloss, a company he founded and leads today.
Will has revolutionized the cardboard box industry with numerous patents and innovative approaches to making life easier and more people friendly with his inventions. Lon Rudnistky, Film Wash Partner at PyrometThe silver recovery business has often been tarnished with a bad reputation. But there are those who have worked to change the perceptions and deliver a reputable service over the years.
Lon Rudnitsky, the Film Wash Partner at Pyromet grew up in the silver business. He knows the silver recovery industry inside out. As someone actively involved in it, Lon sheds some light today on what the silver recovery process entails, how companies like Pyromet and others like them work, as well as the ways you can help your clients know the legitimate silver recovery companies from the scammers.
But, even more importantly, as the ongoing purge of massive amounts of x-ray film from medical institutions takes place over the next few years, it is important for you to know how to leverage it to your advantage. My interview with Lon should help you with that.

Whack-a-mole. You know the game where the mole pops its head up and you have to hit it as quickly as you can? Do you feel like your business world looks a lot like that?
There is a better way! You can systemize your business so it will grow and flourish without sucking up every ounce of energy you have and every minute you possess.
Sam Carpenter used to run himself ragged as the President of Centratel, one of the largest commercial telephone answering services in the USA. He then discovered the power of systems and everything changed for him and the business. Sam went from 80-hour work weeks down to just two-hour weeks while at the same time multiplying his income 20-fold.
Once he proved it, he wrote a book about the systems and processes he instituted at Centratel and outlined how to make them work for other business owners. I discovered the book a couple of years ago and devoured it. We then implemented systems into our business and it changed things dramatically for us too. The book Sam wrote is Work the System: The Simple Mechanics of Making More and Working Less.
Today on the RIMproReport, I am honored to have Sam Carpenter join us to talk about how you can escape the frustrating world of putting out fires and reacting to the whack-a-mole existence and create a business that works for you.
As an added bonus, I purchased 20 books from Sam to give away on the show today. All you have to do is share this interview link with other business owners on your social media platform of choice, then send me an email to request a book. Please include your mailing address as well. I’ll send the book to the first 20 who respond.

Angie Singer Keating, CEO, ReclamereThis show will likely put some serious and well-warranted fear into you. My hope is that the energy of your fear gets quickly translated into preventative actions to ensure you don’t end up in hot water or even on the wall of shame.
The topic…protecting the electronic data that you touch in any way, shape or form.
Angie Singer Keating, the CEO of Reclamere, got my attention when she started talking about the risks we face as service providers in the RIM world as it relates to data, our own computer, data security systems, and the implications we face if we are not demanding the same type of security processes and procedures we do with the physical data we deal with on a regular basis. Fact is, we are more at risk digitally than we are physically. So get ready to be scared into action.
This show might just save your business life.
Here are some of the things Angie mentioned during the extended interview today.
HHS Office of Civil Rights Audit Protocol (Critical to self audit, especially security section)
NAID 2013 Security Threats & Trends (PDF download of Angie’s presentation from NAID)
The will be no news today to allow for this extended interview.

Tom Simpson, President, AAA Certified Confidential Security Corp.Being “first” at anything is a major accomplishment. Think of the Wright Brothers and the first flight. Then there was John Alcock and Arthur Brown accomplishing the first cross-Atlantic flight. (Sorry Lindbergh fans. He didn’t actually make his crossing till eight years after they had.) And don’t forget Chuck Yeager and the first supersonic flight he flew in the famed Bell X-1 airplane.
First matters. No one can ever take away that designation and status once you’ve achieved it.
Our guest today has a history of being first. He’s done it in the shredding industry a few times. Tom Simpson is the President of AAA Certified Confidential Security Corp based in Peoria, IL. Tom and his company were the first NAID AAA Certified shredding company in the world. They were also among the first members of NAID back when it was started. And Tom also drives race cars. (Do you see a pattern emerging?)
Tom is a destruction industry giant. If you are in the shredding business, he’s someone who has paved the way for you and has been instrumental in leadership within the industry. Today, we’ll learn more about him and his story.
